Tribal Love

Hi lovelies! Feeling overwhelmed right now is an understatement as I reflect on how far I have come on this journey. A friend once asked me 'when will I be able to confidently style my outfits like you'. I said to her 'don't worry in due time only be dilligent'. On this journey of fashion there has been ups and downs, failures, rejections even trials and errors not to forget risks. Life is all about risks o! I am still learning...
A good business leader will create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and then relentlessly drive it to completion. Today I want to pay tribute to the Easterners for their business acumen. Truly every Ibo man or woman is business-oriented. They look for oppourtunities everywhere. They are industrious, persistent and risk takers. Give the Ibo man anything and He'll sell it. They are very persuasive,making you believe they have something you want.
An Ibo man will never say no when a client asks for something even if it is the moon. He will go out of his way to make it happen. Ibo Kwenu!As a thriving entrepreneur, I have learnt so many lessons from observing the typical Ibo business man. I have learnt that hardwork and dedication really pays.

A Touch of Red

Happy valentine! If Red is power and Love is red, therefore Love is Power!
So its valentine's day, let me say something about love. I really don't believe much in valentine but I believe in love and it is worth celebrating. I may not know much about the true history of valentine but I can write a whole book about the history of love.
This is what I believe, Love is God and God is Love. Love is a gift from God, Love became man and lived among us. When we obey God and live our lives according to God's standards, God's love develops in our heart. The little deeds we do here and there; deeds of kindness, love, smiles and help makes the earth one big happy place like heaven.
At the end of our lives; the question will be how much have you sacrified, how much you loved and served, how much you did and gave out. Therefore, continue to spread the love everywhere you go not just today but everyday. Not only to friends and family but to everyone. Be a living expression of God!
Love isn't an adjective that qualifies your relationship, but it is a verb that potrays your intentions through actions in a relationship.

DON’T THROW IN THE TROWEL YET!

I was going through my archives and came across this article. Reading it just lifted my spirit, its just what I needed now. I decided to share... who knows, some one may need it.  I am currently going through a phase where it seems things aren't working the way I want it. For days now, I have been in a fix, struggling to not give up. Struggling to keep my dreams alive, to keep hanging in there. I just can't throw in the trowel just because I hit rock bottom. How do I get out of this situation?
  Just because something bad happened to you, maybe it was a business deal which didn’t come off or some failure to win promotion on which you had built high hopes or some illness or accident or an examination you didn't pass or things aren’t  simply going the way you planned, wished or expected. You shouldn't throw in the trowel. It isn’t the time to give up or let go of your dreams, you may be in a fix or so choked up with life that giving up is simply the only best option. It isn’t! Just one more step, one more trial, one more push or move and you are there.    It is amazing how you can gather strength for a journey and lose it quickly in the face of battle. How would you feel if you eventually made it to where you dreamed you will be and how would you feel if you didn’t make it to where you dreamed you will be? The answer should be your focal point in distress. There are lots of people with dreams but we only hear of men who fulfilled theirs through persistence. Things are what you make them, you can either give up, shut yourself up in misery and hopelessness or you refuse to accept defeat. Know this: what has happened to you is happening to many other people in the place you live in, in the very neighbourhood to which you belong. You have got to keep trying, just focus on the light at the end of the tunnel.     What do you think will happen if you give up? Someone else may take the glory, you may never be fulfilled or satisfied or may become a slave to people who are in pursuit of their dreams. Persistence is the key; perseverance is the price to pay. Tests, problems or challenges are ways you move up the ladder of success. I say to myself, “I will not give up never give up on my dreams; I’ll keep pushing and pushing until I get to the top!”   
    I have accepted what happened in good faith; taken responsibility for my actions. It isn’t the end of the world yet! Instead of moaning and complaining, direct all your remaining energy to making the best of your predicament. Being angry and bitter will only make matters worse. Getting rid of all bitterness, resentments and self-pity will release within you new reserves of strength and courage. You will discover ways of making the best of your situation.      I am hopeful, I believe in myself and what I am thoroughly proficient at. Keep working on yourself and developing those qualities in you and try something a little harder. Face your fears, failures and rejection. Refuel your passion, re-strategise and follow through your plans, write down your dreams. Have a mental picture of it and use that picture to keep going. No matter what happens to you, don’t accept defeat or failure.          As for me, this phase will pass, it will fizzle out only a matter of time. I will continue to persist until it becomes a reality! I am not through with my trowel!

MIXED AND MATCHED

Hi lovelies! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend? I did! So sad January is ending I really enjoyed every bit of it but I am absolutely looking forward to the rest of the year. I have a few projects up my sleeves which I will be unveiling soon.
Today's post is about mixing and matching prints before that I'd like to say something. We meet different people everyday and the way we relate with them really matters. 'The quality of your life is the quality of your relationships' Anthony Robbins.People will always hurt us one way or the other, how we choode to react is key.As my Mom would say 'try as much possible within your capacity to be at live with everyone. One of the principles of designing is harmony. Colours, patterns, texture, etc must blend together to produce an harmonized picture. When you look for the best in others, you ultimately bring out the best in you! In life, living in harmony with everyone breeds a peaceful enviroment for all. First seek to understand and then be understood. Put others first before you!
I love to experiment, try a little this and that you know. I decided to try mixing prints, hmn! Mixing prints can be really trickish but fun if you know what you are doing. It is like painting a picture. Keep it simple and stick to same colour palette or families of colour if you are mixing patterns. If you are mixing same pattern but different colours, just make sure the colours blend in and not apart. You can go monotone, or try ombre for that edgy look. It was fun mixing and matching prints. It turned out well didn't it? I will be trying more of mixing prints.

In the dreamland

Hi Everyone! My weekend was just fabulous, I had so much fun. I had my birthday on sunday though am not so keen on parties. I just wanted to keep it quiet this year, spent the day with hubby which was just perfect.
I am reminded of Alice in the wonderland( hence the title) who despite all odds, she strived to find purpose and fufil it. Life is meaniless when you don't have aspirations or dreams. Anyone could have a dream, but not all dreams come true. Its all hardwork and determination. To be a star, you must shine your own path, and not worry about darkness, for that is when the stars shine brightest.
No matter what your dreams and aspirations are, if you give it all it takes it will all take shape. I often say to friends and clients, If you are passionate about anything and really put your all into it, it will be come true. Whatever is on your mind to do this year, get to it, stop postponing it.
I think it is really important that every young person find something they want to do and pursue it with passion. I am very glad I found fashion and I am passionate about it. Print-a-coat

Hi Everyone! I am pretty much excited about today's post, you know that feeling when you finally achieved something that has been taking you a while to do. Yeah, right? I had this outfit planned for last sunday but i had to change last minute due to some uncontrollable circumstances. It wasn't funny at all but I learnt from that experience.
My experience made me realize that my attitude towards people and things around me is very important. Its more important than skills or gifts, facts, failures or successes, education, money or even what people say or think. Our attitude can make or break a relationship, a home, a company, even a church. You and I have that choice regarding the attitude we portray everyday. We can't change our past...we cannot change the way people act. The only thing we have is our attitude, life is 10% what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it. We and we only are in charge of our attitudes.
So, I have resolved that to truly show that I am in charge of my attitude; I will first of, be more grateful to God to be alive.
Secondly, be more generous and expand my heart to accomdate lots of love for many many people.
And Lastly, humble myself to be of more benefit to others, helping them to acheive their greatest desires.

Wined and Dined


Hi Everyone!
A very happy new year to you. May this year bring you all that you truly desire.
I am sorry I have been MIA, trying to juggle schooling, family and business. This year i hope to do a lot better so help me God.

No one is in control of your happiness but you. You have the power to change anything about you or your life that you want to change. This year, make it a priority to be happy. Happiness isnt a destination but the manner of travelling. It is really a by-product of working, playing, loving and living.


To be truly happy; Love someone, anyone and shower them with loads of love. Work hard, Work smart and Lastly keep a clear conscience.

I had a wonderful new year celebration. As a tradition of ours, Hubs and I had dinner with friends. I wanted to look different and with a bang too. What better way to do that with a Jumpsuit and in a lovely colour at that.

Hi lovelies,
How was your week? Hmn! My week was busy as usual in between preparation for my bestie'wedding and sewing for two bridal trains. I am not complaining, I am extremely grateful for this oppourtunity and the people around me who encourage me.
I dont follow all trends, I pick the ones I love and take my time to recreate it. I feel it is more appealing to try out trends when its declining. The monochrome trend is one trend that will never fade, it will always be around. The first time leather skirts, shorts ,trousers and houndstooth trend started I knew i had to have one but of course i waited.
So here is my take on the three trends.

How was your week? Been a while eh! I am sorry i haven't available for a while. Between my internet service provider crashing and my busy schedule. Blogging had to be on hold but am back.


Jackets are one of my favourites pieces, especially ankara Jackets. They are very versitile and can be paired with pants, jeans, skirts or dresses. I love the prints on this one.
